Subject: On responsible governance
Hello,You may or may not have heard of us. If you haven’t, trust that we will becoming another acronym common to vernacular here at dear old RPI.We are the Alliance for Responsible Governance, and we are concerned.In recent years there have been a number of policies enacted at RPI who’s merits have been somewhat doubted by the community at large. After some initial conversation, many of these were seemingly forgot. We are here to remind people.Our demands are simple, that everyone take a comprehensive look at the effect these policies have had. We feel that the administration has been less than clear in addressing this, and therefore we, the RPI community, must address it ourselves. All of you are representatives of the Students, whether working in media or elected positions. We’re calling on you tonight with one demand – to do your jobs, to represent students, and to find out what’s going on. We demand a clear position, finally, on the effect of what has been happening here, so that we can put it to rest once and for all.We are ARG, and we are not going away until our job is done.Expect to hear more from us.
Alliance for Responsible Governance 
I’ve gotta ask – why’d you email WRPI in addition to Student Government?
You–and the Poly, and the S&W–are the voice to the student body and the outside world. If Student Government sympathizes with us but those with loud voices (student media and RPI public relations) ignores it, then there’s very little pressure for creating change. We need the media to cover this, even though it’s an uncomfortable topic; we need our community–all of it–to be aware of what’s happening on campus. We’ve seen from past movements that just student pressure is not enough; just faculty pressure is not enough. In order to succeed, this needs to be a unified movement of student, staff, faculty, and alumni in order to reach the levels that matter – President Jackson and the Trustees.
This is stupid. You’re angry at, of all people, the groups with the least power to get things done?
This is not a cry of anger, but a rallying cry. As little as their actual power may seem, these groups are our official voice as students. These are the students who can talk to the RPI Leadership and the President and be heard by alumni and trustees. We’re calling on them to represent students as their organizational mandates dictate.
If not reach out to these groups, what do you suggest as an effective course of action?
Why don’t you just drop out if you don’t like the administration?
